Atlanta History Center: Cultural tours and exhibits

You'll receive quite an education on the Peach State's capital city at the Atlanta History Center. Located on an expansive and attractive campus, the Center is comprised of the Atlanta History Museum, Swan House, Centennial Olympic Games Museum, Smith Family Farm, several historic gardens, and the Kenan Research Center. During the year, you can enjoy living history programs, lectures, a music series, and annual festivals like Sheep to Shawl. This center was designed to bring the people of Atlanta together with its history and culture. The center itself is comprised with exhibitions, houses, and gardens to see Atlanta's  storied past and present.

The Atlanta History Center is home to several historic gardens, including the Mary Howard Gilbert Memorial Quarry Garden, Smith Family Farm Gardens, Cherry Sims Asian American Garden, Swan House Gardens and Grounds, and Frank A. Smith Rhododendron Garden. One of Atlanta's most photographed landmarks, Swan House is mansion that was built in 1928 for the Edward H. Inman family. Tours of the elegantly restored home include the library, kitchen, dining room, and butler's pantry.
